Lalbagh is the most beautiful garden sprawling over 240 acres. To the southeast of City Market, a rich treasure for botanists it was raised by Haider Ali in 1760 on the lines of the Mughal Gardens. It has 150 varieties of flowers, some very old trees and rocks believed to be 3000 million years old. In between lies a calm and clear water body, a glass house. Flower shows are held every year on Republic Day and Independence Day and people from across the world arrive to view this flower show. There is a dedicated glass house that exhibits the most wonderful and creative flower decorations!! It is a must visit during the months of January and August!
Entry fee is Rs. 5. Timings: 9 am. to 6 pm.
